What is the "Breakfast with Orangutan" experience?

The “Breakfast with Orangutan” is a unique program at the Bali Zoo where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast while observing orangutans in their playground. It’s a popular activity that allows guests to get up close and personal with these incredible animals. The orangutans won’t be sharing your table, but they will be in a nearby habitat where you can watch them play and eat their own food.

What is included in the package?

A standard package typically includes:

Zoo admission
A full breakfast
Animal encounters and shows

Some packages also include hotel transfers.

You can often find packages that bundle the breakfast with other activities, such as the “Elephant Mud Fun” program or an elephant expedition.

What is the schedule for the breakfast?

The breakfast usually runs from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. It’s recommended to arrive as close to 8:00 AM as possible to get a good seat and have more time with the animals. Last check-in is often around 8:30 AM.

What kind of food is served?

The breakfast is a buffet-style meal with a variety of options. You can expect a mix of Western and Indonesian dishes, including:

Fresh seasonal fruits and juices
Baked bread, pastries, and cereals
An omelet station
Local favorites like nasi goreng and mie goreng

Yes, you can take photos with the orangutans from a safe distance. The orangutans often swing down to platforms near the dining area, providing great photo opportunities. Zoo photographers are also available if you would like to purchase professional photos.

Is transportation included?

This depends on the package you book. Many packages offer round-trip hotel transfers from popular areas like Kuta, Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Jimbaran, Ubud, and Sanur. If you choose a package without transfers, you will need to arrange your own transportation.

Is the experience suitable for children?

Yes, “Breakfast with Orangutan” is a family-friendly activity. Children aged 2-12 can get a child-priced ticket, and children under 2 are free. Keep in mind that some optional add-on activities, like “Elephant Mud Fun,” may have height or age restrictions.
